Autumn Nail Polish Picks 2014

Today I'm going to share with you my top autumn nail polish picks. In the autumn I like to wear quite dark colours on my nails with a few grey-iege nudes and greens thrown in.

Essie Penny Talk
I love rose gold in the autumn, it's warm and metallic and totally appropriate for this time of year.

MUA Khaki Green
MUA have since changed their packaging but I love this polish. It's a classic khaki green which is great for if you want something autumnal but not too dark.

Essie Merino Cool
This polish is fairly new to me and I have to say I think i may love it even more than my beloved Barry M Mushroom. It's a grey-iege nude but it's warm with slight purple undertones. I also think it looks really chic and grown-up.

Avon Tweed
This polish is a very very very dark red that looks almost black/brown in some lights. It's more interesting than just plain black and I think is slightly mysterious too. Perfect for if you're feeling in a vampy mood.

Essie Bahama Mama
Another favourite, this is a classic berry red-wine shade and it's such a gorgeous colour! I have already worn it multiple times this season and can see myself wearing it again which is very rare for me!

Rimmel 60 Seconds in Pompous
I hate the name of this polish but I love the colour. I love dark purple nail polish and Barry M do another great one called Vivid Purple. It's not too dark so you can still tell it is a colour and I think shades like this never go out of style or clash with anything.

Butter London Wallis
I can understand that a lot of people hate this polish because it's not the prettiest but I quite like those ugly-pretty shades. This is such a unique colour and I don't think I've ever seen anything similar from any other brands.

Avon Cherry Jubilee
This polish is quite similar to Bahama Mama but much more of a true red shade. This colour never goes out of fashion for autumn and I love wearing it on my toes as well as my fingers. I also like to wear a similar shade on my lips. I love matching lips and nails!

China Glaze Agro
An olive-y green looks great at this time of year. It's not dark but not bright either and I love the shimmer in this polish.

What are your favourite nail polishes for autumn? Are there any you think I should try?

An Autumn Walk

This morning we went for an autumnal walk at a country park near where I live. Here are a few pictures I took...

The Autumn Tag 2014

Source

1. Ok we're talking coffee's - what's your favourite seasonal drink from Starbucks/Costa/Cafe Nero etc? I love this question! My favourite drink is probably a Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks - does anyone else cringe when people call them a PSL? I love English breakfast tea, hot chocolate, coffee and a good chai too.

2. Accessories - what do you opt for, scarf, boots, gloves? I'm a big fan of snoods, scarves tend to be a bit too much of a faff for me, they go wonky or get tangled up in my hair so I love how easy snoods are. I have long boots from last year but am hoping to invest in a pair of ankle boots this year and maybe a pair of uggs - not real ones though!

3. Music - what's your favourite music to listen to during Autumn? I can't say my music tastes change with the seasons apart from at Christmas. I love Autumn Leaves by Ed Sheeran which I guess is kinda seasonal appropriate even though I listen to it all year round.

4. Perfume - what's your favourite scent for this time of year? I'm not a huge buyer of perfumes but I really like Taylor Swifts Wonderstruck Enchanted which is a little bit deeper than the original. Charlie's Red perfume always reminds me of autumn too - I don't care what anyone says, it's a classic! I also love The BodyShops vanilla body mist because it's a simple scent and is nice and warm and cosy too.

5. Candles - what scents will you be burning this season? I'm currently using up a few more fruity, summery scents but hopefully I'll be burning some warm cinnamony scents soon like Yankee Candles, Macintosh, Blissful Autumn and Home Sweet Home.

6. What do you love most about Autumn? Oh I love soooo many things! I especially love cosying up in the evening and watching TV. I love the lead up to Halloween and the feeling you get when you know Christmas is on it's way! I think I might do a whole post about what I love about autumn so look out for that soon. Well, soon ish!

7. Favourite makeup look? I love bronze, purple, or plum eye make up and a berry lip. I'm really in love with Revlons Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Crush and the Revlon Lip Butter in Raspberry Pie - look out for them in a favourites video soon!

8. What are you looking forward to most in Autumn? Probably painting my nails with darker shades, seeing all the leaves on the ground, the autumn TV and just general coziness!

P.S I tag everyone who is reading this to do this TAG. Let's spread some autumnal cheer!

Things I love about Autumn

Autumn is my all time favourite season. I love how warm and cosy it is, I love the fashion, the colours, the leaves falling from the trees. The crisp mornings, blue skies and the colours of the leaves.
I love drinking hot apple and cinnamon tea, Starbucks pumpkin spice lattes and chai tea lattes.
I love burning candles, snuggling with blankets and reading.
I love the television, all the shows like Downton, Strictly, I'm a Celebrity and The X Factor.
I love jumpers and leggings, boots, leather jackets and scarves, fuzzy socks and slippers. Sweater weather truely is the best weather!
I love cinnamon scented bubble baths and Lush bath bombs.
I love pumpkins, Halloween, rainy days, bonfires, fireworks, toffee apples, sparklers and hot chocolates with cream and marshmallows.
I love crunching in leaves, foggy frosty mornings, drinking coffee outside in the early morning when the air is crisp and fresh.
I love the colours, the oranges, the purples, golds, the raspberry oxblood shades, the greens and rich jewel tones.
I love dark nail polish, winged liner (although I'm yet to master it), berry toned lipstick. Autumn make-up is my favourite!
I love roast dinners, sweet potato mash, sausage casseroles, jacket potatoes and comfort food.

What do you love about Autumn?
